Hello,
of course, you need a compiler/linker to create a binary out of your source code. Embedded Wizard Studio generates the source code (ANSI-C code) out of your UI project. This generated code can be compiled and linked together with your other source code, the operating system (if any) and the board support package (BSP).
Please have a look to the different STM32 Getting Started articles to find additional help for compiling an entire application for your target.
