Which of the image file formats PNG, JPG, BMP and GIF are usable for multi-frame animations?

Hello,

you can use all supported image file formats to create multi-frame bitmap resources with or without animation.

The size of the frame is controlled by the attribute FrameSize, the animation time for each frame is controlled by the attribute FrameDelay.
