The usage of an USB dongle was only required for versions <= 9.30. With Embedded Wizard 10.0, a new license management system replaced the USB dongle mechanism by verifying the license over the Internet. The previous license was replaced by the so-called Node-Locked license. Dedicated floating licenses (i.e. Single-User Floating ans Mulit-User Floating) are now available as well, which support the easy transfer of licenses from one PC to another.
