Hi,

I have a problem regarding Excel conversion in "StringTable" example.

If I use the original "Strings.ewu", the result is ok for Spanish as below.

miércoles, sábado

But, if I use the result one converted from "Strings.xls", the result is fail for Spanish as below.

mi?rcoles, s?bado

Plus I have similar problems for Deutch and French.

So, I suspect that the Excel conversion might mal-function for Spanish, French and Deutch.

My opinion is that this problem might be related to the PC environment like OS or language.

My PC environment is Windows 10, 64-bit, Korean version.

This is important for me and please help me to solve it.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

if I understand your message correctly, the export of Excel (the generation of the file Strings.ewu) does not work correctly. This means, when you take the unchanged Excel file and generate the Strings.ewu file, the result is different. Is this the case?

Normally, the content (e.g. for Wednesday) within Strings.ewu should look like this:

How does it look in your case?

And: Which version of Embedded Wizard (and the example StringTable) are you using?

Best regards,

Manfred.

O.k. this is caused by an old version of the excel document. Maybe you have the chance to use one of the latest version of Embedded Wizard Studio (which includes an improved version of the StringTable example with the Strings.xls document).

Alternatively, you can post the Visual Basic code of ExportStrings() - then I can compare it with the current version.

Best regards,

Manfred.

Ok. Thanks.

Just for your information: After version 9.30 we have changed the Visual Basic macro of the Strings.xls template to export the character codes 0x7F....0xFF - so that they are generated as '\U007F' ... '\U00FF'.

Best regards,

Manfred.
