We are having security audit for the third party libraries, which is getting used with our legacy one's and Embedded Wizard is one of them for us. Currently we are using version EW 9.30 Pro and we are wishing to continue with that version.

While going through release notes, we understand that these additions have been done for better usability and optimizations. It just we didn't find any release notes related with security/vulnerability aspect upgrades.

We would like to know if we are missing on any security patches added in latest versions 10.00 and 11.01.  e.g. In release notes 10.00, you talked about your 'New license management system', where your USB security device(dongle) is replaced with shared network license key, And about many more other included features.

Let us know if there have been any upgrades made to improve on security levels of using EW library with latest version,  if so then we can switch to latest version.

Hello,

Embedded Wizard is the solution for creating GUI applications for MPUs or MCUs - and it does not contain any third party libraries. If a customer application requires connectivity via USB or network, it has to be added by the customer. Typically, the SDK of the chip manufacturer contains the necessary drivers for that. Concerning updates for these software stacks, please check the websites of these products / libraries.

Nevertheless, the Embedded Wizard is constantly being further developed, improved and also contains bug fixes. Let me direct you to our website which describes the release notes.

Best regards,

Manfred.

Can you please have a look and guide accordingly.

Hello,

the USB security device (dongle) or the new license management system are only necessary for work with Embedded Wizard Studio, which is the IDE to develop a GUI application. Neither the USB dongle nor the license management system are somehow related to the GUI application that is running within the target.

The entire GUI application is generated into ANSI-C code and all licensed parts that are running in the target (Graphics Engine and Runtime Environment) are provided as source code.

Furthermore, let me refer to the article Certification Aspects which contains some additional information in this context.

Best regards,

Manfred.
