I accidentally deleted an effect in the effects unit of mosaic, and immediately hit ctrl+z. When I tried to save my project, this error was thrown:

To solve this error, i have been closing the project without saving to work around this error. but in the long run, it is not a good solution, since i am also losing other unsaved changes in the project and have to recreate these changes after opening the project again. And this takes up alot of my limited time

So my question is, is there another solution for this problem?

thank you,

Hi techXis,

as you mentioned, you have accidentally deleted a member of the Mosaic framework. Using Ctrl-Z is fine - but not necessary.

You can close your project - but with saving your project - then you will get the following messages (for example):

All your work will be saved and the Mosaic units will not change. After reopening your project everything should work as expected.

Would that help next time?

Best regards,

Manfred.

Hi Manfred,

thanks for the quick reply!

That's the thing, I can't save the project because it keeps throwing me this same error. this error prevents me from saving anything from the project. I never get to this point (shown in your screenshot)  where saving has succeeded. The autosave also seems to not work.

Let me understand your steps: after unintentionally modifiying the framework, you hit Ctrl+S, and right after the success msg comes up? What steps am I missing, because that's what I did too....

Kind regards,

Xiu

Hi Xiu,

let's assume you have done some modifications in Application::Application and you have deleted Effects::PointEffect accidentally.

When you now save the project via Ctrl+S you get:

When you close the project, again a message appears and informs you about the modified Mosaic:

Everything fine. Now, when you reopen your project, the unit Application contains the latest version and the Mosaic unit Core is unmodified.

Can you confirm that? If not, what version are you using?

Best regards,

Manfred.

Hi Manfred,

This time worked! I reinstalled everything and restarted my PC, and did the steps you instructed, and it worked :D

Thank you for the instruction!
