Hi all,

We currently have an Embedded Wizard application that runs on a custom i.MX8MM based board. We use the platform package for the i.MX8 that uses opengl and libdrm as a backend. Now, we want to extend the application with a video. We were already able to show a video on our platform using gstreamer. However, we do not know how to integrate this into the Embedded wizard application.

We already had a look at one of the available guides about external application integration (https://doc.embedded-wizard.de/applet-interface). The third option to create a different hardware layer for the video stream seemed promising to us. The guide mentions that the required steps to create a separate hardware layer depend on the specific platform. We were not able to discover the required steps for our platform. Does someone have experience with this use case in a similar environment?

Kind regards,

Yoshi

Hi yoshi,
there is an add-on package for the IMX8-OpenGL-DRM Embedded Wizard Build Environment containing a simple video player example based on the Embedded Wizard ExternVideo class and gstreamer.
Please send your request directly to support@embedded-wizard.de
